Catch Up With Jill Gern

Jill Gern represented Germany at the Elite Model Look World Final just last year. Since then, she’s done shoots for Camille Enrico, Alysée Yin Chen, Antidote and Le Temps. We caught up with her to find out what’s been going down.

What have been your personal highlights since the Elite Model Look Final 2016?

I’ve been to Paris, it’s such a beautiful city. I also stayed in Barcelona and Madrid. I also did a shoot with Luc Braquet, the photographer from the Elite Model Look World Final! I’m really happy that Elite makes this possible.

How do you stay in shape?

I was always into sports, mostly I’ve done ballet. I also enjoy riding the unicycle, I do a lot of yoga and I am a vegetarian. In every town I stay in I’m always looking for a good gym!

Did you always want to be a model?

I actually never seriously thought about becoming a model when I was little, but it’s a dream getting the chance to meet and work with great people in many different places. It’s fun trying different looks and I feel at home in the fashion world.

We saw on Instagram that you saw Davidson in Paris - that must have been fun!

Davidson is really special, he has a great energy and we laughed a lot. We are still friends even though he tricked me on 1st of April when he pretended that he has a broken leg. I totally believed it. That was a successful April fool’s!

We also spotted you hanging out with Adrian!

I met Adrian in Barcelona and it was great that we’ve been there at the same time. It was a wonderful reunion. We had a lot of fun! We planned to go to the gym together but that didn’t work out as always one of us had a shooting or a casting on the schedule. But we went out for a new faces dinner!

What’s your advice to anyone applying to Elite Model Look 2017?

Oh yes, enjoy the time as it is an important part on the way to becoming a model. It’s really unbelievable how much you learn from the coaches and how many amazing different people from all over the world you get to meet.
